HELP! My newly re-installed Windows Me O/S developed this fault soon after I installed Media Player 9. I cannot change the setting from reminding me every 5 minutes, whether I do it from Control Panel or from the task bar reminder icon - from which I was able to decline the MS Licence Agreement, which should surely switch the damned thing off. I have deleted the C:\Program Files\Windows Update folder and instructed Zone Alarm not to allow it to connect to the Internet but the Update Reminder message appears every few minutes at the bottom of my screen even when I am offline. Does anyone have any ideas. Please!
