Many agree that Pegasus Mail (PM) is an absolutely great mail program. FWIW I've been using it for several years starting with a DOS version. BTW a DOS version is still available. PM is totally free with no nag screens. While a manual is available (in PDF), the on-line help is enough to set up a simple installation.
