Just some comments:

* The "LG" in "LG DVD" that Peter referred to in a recent post stands for "Lucky Goldstar", and was the old Goldstar company that has been in electronics and appliances (such as microwaves) for years.

* I heard on the radio about a week ago that Dell (the company that supposedly has the best support in computers) will provide stateside technical help for business customers. But all technical support calls for non-business owners will be re-routed to India.

* Also, it has been announced that Gateway has purchased E-Machines. I believe the price was something like 238 million (not much money for a computer company).

Maybe this is all old news. But I thought the Dell and E-Machine news may be of interest to someone planning to buy a new computer. - John.
