I know someone else this happened to. Does this sound like it?
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojseekerf.html This may not be
the exact one you have. There is one that you can get from a web page.

It doesn't say it there but I've read that some variants of these things go
after antis*yware apps and v*rus scanners too. They try to disable them.

I'd make sure it was gone and then reinstall the other apps just to be safe.
Are you up to date on all your security patches?

Subject: PCWorks: Sp*bot and Homepage hijacking.

Today, my home page was hijacked. I was able to restore it to my preference.
The home page I was taken to
was some sort of search page..forget the name..
Then, I ran Sp*bot and got about 6 SP*bot error messages, all in German,
then the program ran. All it
found was MSWorks auto update.
I then ran Adware, it found one cookie. I then ran Sp*bot again and still
got those errors..
Does anyone have an idea what's going on? I did update both programs today.
Translation of all the errors has the following phrase:
access injury with address 00314ha. Reading from address...
