Of course YOU CAN'T.
that motherboard takes any AMD processor from 66 to 133MB/s FSB,
it means up to XP2500+ or so. A very cheap one which is pretty fast
(I have one working in my 2nd PC) is the Duron 1.6 MB As a bonus
you can overclock it up to 2.0GB if the mobo allows you.. (it DOES NOT
overheat, actually it runs cool at 166mb FSB)
You can use almost ANY socket A CPU...even a Duron 600.

There seems to be a beta update for that bios which allows you to
rise the FSB up to 166MB/s but if I were you I would stay with a
XP2500+ cpu (the 2600 is way more expensive, the 2700 uses
166 mb fsb ).
good luck and avoid overclocking if possible.

Hello,

I've never tried this and don't want to damage the motherboard, but can you
fire up a motherboard with just a video card and no processor to see what the
BIOS revision number is? The MB is an ASUS A7A266. I would like to know what
the BIOS is before purchasing the processor.

Thanks,

Roger Carnell
