Even if it goes to black, the transformer and other electronics are on, creating heat. Heat is the biggest enemy of electronics. If you are turning off the computer at night, the turn off the monitor as well. I have a control panel which sits under the monitor. Its made by Zoom and has switches for the computer, monitor, printer and two Aux as well as the master. After allowing the computer to shut down, I turn off the master which turns off the powered speakers, printer and all but the rourter and cable modem.

Hi Workers,

I have a 17" Hansol regular monitor I am using with a PC, Win
98SE. I usually turn on my PC at the beginning of the day and
then, when I am finished for the day I turn of the system. I am
wondering what is the best way to treat the monitor. Leave it
on? It automatically goes into standby mode. Or turn it off?
I am wondering what is the best way to extend it life?
