I have installed SP2 on both my computers (One Pro, one Home) without incident. In the case of the Pro install, the backup portion of the install could not find a file that was clearly in place. (atapi.sys). I elected to continue without the file, and all was well. My one concern was my FTP program, and the first time I used it, the XP security center asked if I would like to add it to my exception list, and I did so. It worked as always. Prior to installing I: Defragged all drives Turned off all open programs, including AV and programs in the system tray.
