That's a really strange file, Roger. I don't have Windows 98 anywhere anymore to check it. Does it actually exist? I only get one Google hit on it. That has to be some sort of a record for a Windows file. I don't get a single hit from MS knowledge base search.
Windows 98 will re-install on top of an existing installation without reformatting. and supposedly without data loss. You could try that.
