In Outlook Express...go to tools-options-security.
Uncheck the box "Don't allow attachments..."

Subject: PCWorks: Outlook Express attachments

Hello again,

I recently had to reinstall Outlook Express. All works well except the
attaching of doc and txt files. Picture files attach fine (although within the
email itself, and all I see in the Attach line is a small MS icon). I remember
that previously I used to see the particular file icon with its name.

However, with doc and txt files, again I see a small MS icons, but upon
opening the email (when I send it to myself for testing), there is no sign of
an attachment, except that paper clip to the left of the addressee (which upon
clicking, opens to a reply window).

How do I configure this correctly? ... Harold
