Response What I did in Window 98 was first add the file to the "Registered file types" list in "Folder Options" ... My Computer, View, Folder Options, File Types, New Type, Description (insert name of file), Associated extension (I made one up, ifn for IrfanView), Content (i.e., jpeg for IrfanView, which was what I was concerned with), New, Action (open), etc. This added IrfanView to the "Open With" window. What this tells me is that "Open With" holds all the files that are registered in the system (something that never occurred to me). Regarding the associated extensions where I made one up; it sounds strange but it worked. If anyone know what the better entry should have been, please let us know. All the above was a trial and error thing (because nobody in this distinguished group responded to my plea on how to add to the "Open With" window. Now I'm glad I figured it out all by myself; I get three bells for that :) ... Harold ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
