Thank you, David, and thank you, Lynne (Lynne is quite knowledgeable in
MSWord and sent instructions of the list). Putting your ideas together, I'd
summarize how to make tear-off tabs as follows:

1. Go to Table, Insert, Table, Number of columns, Number of rows, AutoFit to
window, Click ok.
2. Click the table, click cross-arrow (highlights entire table).
3. Go to Table, Table Properties:
        a. Row Tab, Specify height.
        b. Table Tab, Borders and Shading, and pick a border.
4. Go to Format, Text Direction, Click one of the directions, OK
5. On the Format Bar, choose "Center" and enter your text.

PS ... My friend thanks you too. Remember Jimmy Cagney? "My mother thanks
you, my father thanks you, etc." ... BTW, I find that by highlighting the
entire row, you *can* change the direction of all the cells in the row at
once, and with copy/paste, you can fill all the cells with text easily.

There are various ways to do it. Some people may suggest turning a text box
sideways and then copying and pasting a number of times. I have a way that
makes it come out straighter and more even.

>Create a 1-row table with 6-10 columns across the bottom of your document,
and check Print Preview to be sure that it is within the printable area. The
number of columns you create will determine the number of those tear off
sections.

>Right click each cell that you have created, and click Text Direction,
Orientation. Choose the direction that you would like the text to face. For
some reason, you can't change the orientation of the entire row at once.

Now the cute part. Not only will you be able to type sideways, but many of
the icons in your top two rows of toolbars will also turn sideways.
Challenge: Try to look at those familiar Word icons without smiling. ...
