OS? Assuming this is XP, it's just as they say; "TOTAL physical memory" which is your RAM, what you have installed, and "AVAILABLE physical memory", yes, what's still available after what all you have open is consuming. I'm not sure on a good ratio for you since there are too many variables. -Clint
God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) http://ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "larry" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> When I go to start>programs>accessories>system tools>System info and then look at the total physical memory displayed, is that my ram memory and is the available physical is that what is left at the time I am viewing it? If it is what is a good ratio to have there. It appears that I have 256mb and as I write this missive I have 50mb left. Is that all the stuff that is running in the background.
