I've been browsing the message boards here for the program: http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?ICP=spyware&sLCID;us
..and it appears that the program times out! I didn't notice it when I had it installed, but there is an area that states when it expires, and the release version may not be free. I don't see any point in paying for an anti-malware program when so many of them, GREAT ones, are free. I fear many will do something stupid and pay for it, then it will never be free. If no one went and bought it, then M$ would be forced to reconsider charging for it. BTW, unfortunately that message board is pretty much useless if you want to search, and who has the time to read every one of the thousands of posts. Searching is the only way to find anything since many of the people there are idiots using senseless subject lines like "error", "help", "please help", etc., etc. The search function of course doesn't work! You click "Search", a new window opens up where you set the search parameters.....and that's it! No "search now" button or anything like that! [Enter] doesn't do it. If anyone can figure out how it works, please post it. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) http://ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Kaulback" < There is a good review of this new tool here with some illuminating findings: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/ap/20050121/ap_on_hi_te/tech_test_microsoft_s_malware_scrubbers or here http://tinyurl.com/6dtqf Peter Kaulback ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
