Thanks Jorge -- sounds like marvellous advice. Problem is, I don't possess a
copy of XP (except for the miserable recovery disk that came with my
laptop), can't afford to purchase one at the prices M$oft charge, and don't
know anyone who can give me a copy :-(
If I can solve the winsock problem, looks as if I'll have to struggle along
with Win 98se.
