I was given an HP pavilion 4430 Laptop that
was deemed unrepairable by a local electronics
store. While removing the hard drive I discovered
that the ribbon cable connected to the touch pad
had dropped out of place and into the path of the
hard drive. I also dropped a screw into the works
of the laptop. I now need to open the laptop to
find the screw and tuck the ribbon cable back in
place.
I have removed all the visible screws, but the
laptop separates only at the edges. There seems to
something holding it together in the center, but
there is no visible screw at that point. Does
anyone know what has to be done to
get the case of the laptop to open up?
