The reason I do it all the time is to make weekly clones. For example, this
machine uses Windows 2000 Pro. All of our desktops have removable hard drive
enclosures (for the "cloned" or emergency substitution in case of hard drive
crash. We move them off location in case of theft, fire, flood....etc). I am
using twin 7200rpm 40 G ATA133 IDE drives (as a RAID 0 striped array for
faster performance) and use a single 80G ATA133 IDE for the clone. One of my
other computers is using XP Pro with twin 15000RPM SCSIs and it works great
there also. I am using Norton Systems Work Professional that has Norton
Ghost. ONLY use the floppy disk boot and be sure to read the instructions
carefully.
