Hi Clint and all,

Sorry for the lack of details. He uses a dialup account from ntelos.net
and retrieves email with OE 5 on Windows Me (ouch and ouch!). nTelos
does provide web based email for his [EMAIL PROTECTED] address, but he
doesn't use it. He's considering changing his email address, but his
spam problem is rooted in the spyware on his system. He felt he needed
WeatherCast and installed it. That led to several bogus optimizer, rogue
security and other bozo programs like Date Manager. The spam followed
like water from a broken dam. So I'm removing the spyware first as any
change of email address could be useless. We're talking about an 86 year
old who won't be making any large changes like OS upgrades. What I'm
looking for (most) is some program that'll run on his machine and maybe
integrate with OE. I'm wondering if list members (especially yourself)
might have any suggestions or experiences to share.

Thanks,
Chuck

Do they have a website and domain email with it, or just their
ISP email? The options for each are quite different.

Hi all,

I'm interested in lessening spam for someone. Does anyone have
any
suggestions for good and free (or inexpensive) anti-spam
software? Could
anyone offer good tips for avoiding spam?

Many thanks!
Chuck
