Thanks, Ben. But you have to add one more thing (the reason I could not originally clear the Recents). These steps can only be done when the Start menu is in the default mode. I have it in the "Classic" form where this tweaking cannot be done. I did it your way and it works fine.
I have a maintenance applet called "BeClean" ... http://boozet.xepher.net/beclean/index.htm or http://www.infos-du-net.com/en/telecharger/BeClean.html ... which in one click does the job. It also cleans out tons of other garbage. That, along with CCleaner, Clean Disk, CleanUp, CoffeeCup Privacy, Disk Cleaner, DupKiller, HDValet, Scrub XP, Space Odyssey, Temp Cleaner, and Temper (not to mention a slew of Registry, V*rus, and Spyware cleaners) gives me the cleanest computer in NYC. Now if I could only do the same for my closets. --- Harold > Right click on the start button. Choose properties. Go to the start menu tab. Click customize. Click the Clear button. --- Ben >> In Windows 98 it was easy (right clicking the taskbar and properties). Here in XP it seems more complicated. How do you clear the Recents in Start>Documents? I know I have programs that'll do it but I'd like to know the XP way. ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
