Donny, I'm assuming (thinking of Felix Unger's famous line about "assume"),
you are talking about IE, and depending upon what operating system you are
using, I'd go to Search, enter "favorites" (sans quotes), and wherever you
find it, copy it into your backup floppy, CD, or drive.
I know that in Win XP it's found in:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Favorites, and in ...
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Favorites
Then after the format, copy that file back to where you originally found

I format my computer very often and loses my favorites links everr time .
