Does anyone know how to selectively delete the restore points in windows
XP ? In what folder are the restore points saved? --- Wally
I'm not sure if this is the information you want but I just go to Start,
PC Help & Tools, System Recovery, I then button "Restore my computer to
an earlier time" and then choose the exact point I want it restored to. I
know you know that, Wally, because I only answer easy questions. So it
must be something else you are asking for :-) --- Harold
The FAQ for System Restore is here (See the "How To" Section):

I have done that, but then it occurred to me that if I created enough
restore points, I wouldlose the first one I created. I really wanted the
first one.I then wanted to delete some of the intermediarypoints to regain
space so the first point would not be forced out to make room for newer
points. It seems this is not possible --- Wally
Now I understand what you meant by "selectively" ... I'm never selective in
restoring; I just go to the last point I think will work and start from
there. If necessary, I'll work my way back, back to the day I bought the
computer if necessary (whch is not far from the truth if I have to do a
complete system recovery). Maybe Hugh's link has the asnwer; seems to be a
good page to hold on to. Congratulations on your new Compaq Presario
SR1910NX, Mine is a year old, a Compaq Presario SR1520NX, and I'm happy with
it. We can compare notes offline. --- Harold
