That box is checked. I don't remember checking it so I guess that's the default setting. Exactly what does it mean, "shows tasks common to the kind of folder involved. They'll be different for things like Docs, Music, Pictures, etc." You should know by now; I need everything spelled out. As an aside, I find it so true that online instructors (like here in PCWorks), take so much for granted when it comes to the learner's ability to understand instructions. On the other hand, maybe it's my r/t (real time) teaching background that makes me feel that all instructions should be given in small steps and in great detail (even there, I had to define r/t). --- Harold

This is a function of XP. Look under the "General" tab. The correct wording is "Show Common tasks". It's actually kind of a cool feature that shows tasks common to the kind of folder involved. They'll be different for things like Docs, Music , Pictures, etc.

And Hugh, I'm using FF 1.5.0.8 and in My Computer, Tools, Folder Options, View, I don't see any "enable common tasks" line. Am I looking in the right place?
