Hi Larry,

What sort of info are looking for? Are you saying that you physically
opened the battery pack? (Folks at home - don't try that!) All notebook
batteries are consumable items. They use chemicals that break down over
time and use. In my experience, the original batteries may last about
three years, new replacement batteries may last about two years, based on
normal usage. Even though the lights and power meter software may show
charges up to 100%, a very used battery may not hold or dispense a
supposedly full charge.

Subject: PCWorks: lap top battery question

Dell Latitude will run for about 5 minutes then goes dead.
the 5 little test lights on the battery, show dead also.
after charging all 5 show good.
obviously the battery, but being a tv repairman, i wanted to
know more.
I opened the battery box and checked the actual batteries, and
they are fine.
16 volts and high current, at least 2 amps available.
Can anyone explain more about this battery assembly?

thanks,
larry
