Its not ideal but it works solidly. To get really specific, you
could do this:
cvs co externals/Makefile
cvs co externals/maxlib
cvs co pd/src
cvs co packages/Makefile.buildlayout
cd externals && make maxlib
So you wouldn't really need that much from CVS.
