No, basically, it sounds like you are doing this...

[myobj $1]

in one instance... and

[myobj $2]

in another instance...

You already know what the number of the parameter you are looking for, so
why not do this...

[myobj 1 $1]

[myobj 2 $2]

May not be the most elegant, but...
