Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: puredata Group: v0.40.2 Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Matteo Sisti Sette (sistisette) Assigned to: Hans-Christoph Steiner (eighthave) Summary: [keyup] doesn't catch escape key ([key] does) Initial Comment: Tested only on Windows XP [key] does output a 27 when the Escape key is pressed, but [keydown] does not output anything when the Escape key is released. Possibly related with the [keyname] bug I just submitted?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matteo Sisti Sette (sistisette) Date: 2009-04-06 18:11 Message: eighthave wrote: > This is fixed by patch #1704511 and included in branches/pd-extended/0.40 One year has passed and the bug is still there in PD Vanilla 0.42-4. I guess the problem, here, is that when the fixing patch was made and included in pd-extended, the bug report was closed. Thanks a lot eighthave for fixing the bug, but I think IMHO that a report should never be closed until the fix has reached the Vanilla release (when it affects an object that is included in Vanilla). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hans-Christoph Steiner (eighthave) Date: 2008-05-09 21:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27104 Originator: NO This is fixed by patch #1704511 and included in branches/pd-extended/0.40 http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1704511&group_id=55736&atid=478072 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matteo Sisti Sette (sistisette) Date: 2007-05-30 23:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1709568 Originator: YES AAARGH sorry, I messed this up totally!!! (I can't edit or rewrite it, can I?) I meant: * [key] outputs a 27 when Escape is pressed, an 8 when backspace is pressed (that's fine) * [keyup] outputs 0 when Escape or Backspace is released. I confirm this, on Windows XP. (vanilla 0.40.2) There's no [keydown] at all, of course. I just messed it up. Sorry for the (recurrent!) lapsus. Feel free to delete and repost the bug report if you can/want Thanks m. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Frank Barknecht (fbar) Date: 2007-05-30 21:40 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=569446 Originator: NO On Linux [keyup] correctly gives 27 when Escape is released. AFAIK there is no [keydown] object, at least to in Vanilla-Pd. Where is this object from? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matteo Sisti Sette (sistisette) Date: 2007-05-30 18:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1709568 Originator: YES ERRATA [keydown] outputs a 0 (zero) when the Escape key is released!!
