Fuck it. I'll do it. It'll be a "reverse kickstarter". I've been thinking about 
it for a while, but I frankly don't use GEM for much so haven't had to "scratch 
that itch". I'll pick out the code later today. I too am tired of seeing these 
requests go unanswered year after year ...
