That's what I am seeing - the hex names in my externals dir. Anything to correct that? Those are the only ones I cannot create, even when I type in their hex names as they stand as .pd_darwin files.

[mtx_*~] is _not_ a recent addition. however, it comes by the name of several aliases, one of them being [mtx_mul~]; you might have to create this object first, in order to see it's other name [mtx_*~]. otoh, if you don't see any tilde objects in your iemmatrix libdir folder, this might be due to the hexloader stuff, where non-ascii characters (like '~' and '*') are replaced by some hexadecimal representation (hard to read for humans!) mfga.r IOhannes
