Looking at the code:

I can see a "method" to respond to the message [vector x y z(   where  
x, y, and z are A_FLOATs aka floats.

      class_addmethod(classPtr, (t_method) 
&part_damp::vectorMessCallback,
            gensym("vector"), A_FLOAT, A_FLOAT, A_FLOAT, A_NULL);
