well, i cannot develop suchan object for linux
for i don't use any dv,
but my friend Luka "Husk" (  www.estereotips.net )
adapted the GISS to use a temporary :

passing through Gem and converting to PDP using gem2pdp.
here it is attached.

of course this solution is not optimal
and it has lots of dependencies :
Gem, gem2pdp, PDP/PiDiP, playlist...

but i think all is included in pd-extended now
( and working )

of course, it's very heavy and i hope temporary solution,
if someone could develop a pdp_ieee1394,
that would be cool,
