If you configure without [#out quartz] support, then [#out window] will
not be an alias for [#out quartz]: instead it will be an alias for [#out
x11]. Then you need to have all x11 headers installed (e.g. from FINK),
and you need to run Apple X11 or another "X11 server".
[#out quartz] does not need X11, so if it works, it might be better... but
[#out x11] has more features.
