I obviously agree that it is a tedious process, but, an entire Pd-E release is not that common so usually I guess committing to the trunk will do. As I said in the docs, SVN 1.5 makes this about 1/5th the effort, which is enough to make it tolerable IMO. Usually the branch maintainer would do the merging of everyone else's stuff, but I think in this case the Pd-repo is too huge. So, there is some work as SVN Ambassador.
