I haven't heard of any such effort. But if you are interested in taking it on yourself, I can answer questions about the build system. It is now used for Debian/Ubuntu, gentoo, and Fedora/ PlanetCCRMA packages. It's not the prettiest thing, but it works. Just post questions to pd-dev and I'll answer them there when I have time.
