I joined Joe & Co for one of these in southern California, it was
really fun. You can also hang out with the Makerbot people too.

On Monday - Wednesday October 26-28 during "after school hours," New
Blankets, the Boys
and Girls Club of Carbondale, and Southern Illinois University will
be conducting a "Real
Imagination Festival" at the Boys and Girls Club in Carbondale. The
Real Imagination
Festival will consist of exhibits, activities and classes for the
kids of the Club, a film
festival of creative efforts with introductions by SIU creative arts
faculty members, and
hands-on workshops with free/open creative software such as Gimp,
Scratch, and Kino.
New Blankets (http:newblankets.wik.is) -- as part of its "puredata
boosting" would
especially like to have the Festival include an introduction and/or
activities for these
young people highlighting puredata.
We are requesting that any volunteers who know puredata and would
like to do some
demonstration and instruction for kids at the Carbondale Boys and
Girls Club would please

We're expecting that our puredata volunteers will be folks who live
in the St. Louis or
Southern Illinois areas. But who knows? We've got one volunteer
coming from NYC to help
demonstrate/build Makerbots ...
