we use the alix computers = x86, actually running gentoo with pd vanilla pd-0.4.2 + oggcast~, moonlib, ++ on a project called streambox[1]
the specs of the boxes are 500mhz, 256ram, monitor output, sound card, 2 usb ports, 1 ethernet port and a minipci slot for a wireless card if needed.
