It's really a Dollar and not a Doll Arg.

Though you could ask why is it a Doll Sym and not a Dollar Symbol...

And why Dollar when the "$" character is "$" because it looks like the "S" in "Substitute"...

Anyway, in <m_pd.h>, A_DOLLAR exists and A_DOLLARG doesn't.
