hello tim, thank you for your help! i couldn't wangle it yet to turn off (get out of) the full screen mode, but i can destroy the gem window in the full screen mode. so i can get back to the patch without shooting down the computer;)

Therefore, while you can initiate the fullscreen mode with [key], to get out of it you need to use something like [gemkeyname]--[sel X]--[0,destroy(--[gemwin].
