you are calling the GUI which in turn opens the Pd-core, but without the
proper arguments.
either do:
$ /Applications/Pd-0.43-0test4.app/Contents/Ressources/bin/pd -d 1
or use
 the preference menu, to set "-d 1" as one of the startup flags, and
restart.
