it seems like part of the brokenness of the wiki-page is, that Gem (and
pd-pdp) are currently not in wheezy.
at least for Gem i can confirm, that it (re-)entered Debian/testing
yesterday. it was blocked for several days (and even removed from
testing) by a transition of ImageMagick.
