I am using this when I start up Pd:
[loadbang] | [alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state restore SB( | [shell] First you need to store the mixer settings with this of course: [alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state store SB( | [shell] "SB" at the end is the name of the onboard Realtek sound card. You might have to change that according to the name in /proc/asound/cards or leave it blank if it works.
