thanks for your efforts to document this! i was trying to follow your instructions - though i wasn't able to succesfully
update the firmware. i went through the steps failing at:
~ sudo dfu-programmer at90usb82 flash Arduino-usbserial-uno.hex
Error parsing the line.
Something went wrong with creating the memory image.
before i briefly connected the pins two pins as described - no Rx & Tx blinking anymore but the L keeps blinking in
regular intervalls.
any idea what went wrong?
