Wow, that's pretty long.  In Linux it might take 5 to 10 seconds the first 
time, then it's 

pretty snappy (like less than a second after that).

I haven't looked into ways to optimize it at all.  If anyone knows tcl tricks, 
that might 

be easier than using Xapian.
