well the analog output has been reported as being of inferior quality by a lot of folks in general as well as some on the PDlist. most recommended the HDMI audio out (you'd need a splitter cable) or possibly an external USB interface, but given the USB power issues lately reported by Pi owners i imagine that might cause further issues.
