There are adapter cables designed for the XBox that extract stereo audio from 
the HDMI stream.  That might work for the Pi.  BestBuy and Fry's have them.

I bought one similar,
it look like a proprietary plug dedicated to xbox, that can't be use with a 
hdmi cable.
i'm looking for an other one, or a way to hack this to be pluged in a standard 
hdmi cable.
