Hey Flad,another possible way is a vocoder of sorts. You extract the 
fundamental frequency f of the harmonic sound via sigmund~, and assign the 
series based on f as values to a set of filters (f, 2f, 3f.... nf) through 
which you play the non-harmonic signal.
