While we can sort hacks for Pd it should presumably be an O.S./W.M.
fix.
I've never encountered this problem on various debian wheezy installs
but that's with xfce not lxde.
hi, small update:
for whatever reason, my recently "apt-get installed" puredata was
version 0.43 (how so ?)
i manually installed 0.46 and voilà: problem gone !
