Well, we were unable to install the latest PD-extended on newer OSXs,  and 
reverting to older versions of extended, coupled with the knowledge that this 
is an unmaintained software caused some frustration. Consequently, every 
encounter with disparity between available objects and libs led to additional 
frustration. 
We actually didn't try all working on vanilla and adding the libs manually. I 
think I'm gonna follow Hans' and Patrick's suggestion, which seems like a very 
basic and reasonable approach.
