Dear Simon, thanks a lot for your quick and valuable answer! Actually I did not find anywhere that pd.extended is outdated, having this information clearly stated on the website would have allowed me to save time. So my suggestion would be to signal this on the website.
Anyways, I will try to build pd-vanilla and deken. However, I think it would be great to solve the compilation problem related to the alsa packages linkage.
