This article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Interchange_File_Format suggests that floating-point format is supported by AIFF. However, the help-file of [soundfiler] specifically says: 'no floating point aiff, though.' Thus, I conclude it's a restriction of Pd. Roman
