my patch doesn't need zexy abstractions, it's only for [l2s]

Part of zexy comes as abstractions, so you would need:
[declare -stdpath zexy -stdlib zexy]
in order to load all of zexy. You can test with those objects:
[dirac~] (external only)
[mean] (abstraction only)
[repack] (available as both)
