I compiled jack2 with current master (9c929bef39e1, which is probably
the one they use in KXStudio) and compiled Pd against this new jack. I
also get segfaults when running Pd with -rt. The backtrace looks pretty
similar to yours. As you already reported, other Jack clients run fine.

thanks! That's valuable info - now I know it's not my fault (apart from
running a too new version of Jack2). What do you think is causing the
segfault? Is it something that needs to be fixed in Pd or in Jack2?
